The area is an outdoor enthusiast's paradise offering skiing, snowboarding, walking, climbing, cycling, sailing, canoeing, white water rafting, horse-riding, shooting, bird-watching and fishing.

The mountains offer a funicular railway (open all year) and the highest restaurant in Great Britain.

Watersports (kayaking, canoeing, windsurfing) are available on nearby Loch Morlich (with a golden, sandy beach) and Loch Insh (also nearby) offers watersports and pleasure boat trips.
